Welcome to 2024!
We have some fantastic events and activities planned this year at Waiau Pa School.
We look forward to sharing some of these memories with our community.
2024
Matariki Celebrations
This year's celebration of Matariki involved a traditional hāngī prepared with help from so many members of the school community that all chipped in with their support. We also had a number of activities running for the day so that all children could experience traditional weaving, pui pui making, tī rākau, harakeke, poi and more! We ended the day with a special assembly to show off our new kapa haka uniforms as our fabulous kapa haka took to the stage, finishing the day off with a shared lunch for everyone. A very heart-warming community event!
2024 Book Week/Grandparents Day/Market Day
We just loved being able to have all our grandparents, parents and special whānau at our school to participate in our Book Week Character Parade and enjoy all the unique products on offer from our Year 7&8 tamariki for our annual Market Day. We all love this special yearly event!
2024 PTA Disco
A massive thank you to our fabulous PTA and all of the volunteers for all of their hard work and planning to make this year's Disco a huge success.
This year's theme was to dress up as something starting with the letter 'D'.
From dinosaurs and doctors to detectives and Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, our school's creativity came out in full force.

2024 Valentines Day
Our valentines Red Day event went off well, with our school being filled with a flood of red across all classrooms.
2024 STEAM Club
We would like to thank the wonderful team from William and Stanley who came into the school to run a weekly STEAM club for our school. Through the program, kids learnt subjects such as the working of a computer, working with coding and robots, and touched on other topics.
2024 Rimu Football Comp
Well done to all our Rimu Syndicate Teams who took part in the Franklin Football competition.
