2023 Auckland Writers Festival
On Tuesday 16th May, six young writers had the opportunity to listen to and learn from some increadible authors from New Zealand, and around the world.
The writers festival includes lectures and workshops, and our students were lucky enough to work in a small group with Graci Kim where they worked on coming up with new ideas for a text, and James Norcliffe, who taught about specifics of writing ghost stories. We also sat in on lectures from Jason Reynolds, Mary-Anne Scott, and Dahlia and Mani Maleaulu.
Some inspiring stories were shared and the students walked away with new ideas and a few autographs too.
Franklin Multicultural Festival
WOW! We were blown away by the impressive performances from our Pasifika and Kapa Haka groups on the weekend. Proffesional, polished and practically perfect, you all did such a great job.
A huge thank you to all the people who helped make this possible, from the copious amounts of practices, organisation, uniform sorting and everything in between.
We are so proud of you all.
